Anatomy of a Job

When printed pieces wind up in your hand they are meant to be a seamless end product.

Here is a recent brochure put together by the Davis Food Coop.

To anyone that receives this it is clear that it is to join the Davis Food Coop.

To the employees of the Coop it is clear that there is information printed to be used to sign a customer up and to save the person $5.00.

What is less clear are the different printing techniques used to produce this brochure. The below image shows what went into making this piece. Most notably being the two color printing and the variable data.

This brochure was printed offset, using two colors.  Using offset printing gives the full, rich color that ink offers. This also allowed for the screened, orange image of the store.

We then ran it through our digital press to print the barcodes. Since two incremented up and one incremented down we used our variable data capability to handle the barcodes. Every piece wound up with a different sequence of numbers.

No matter what elements are needed, at The Printer we can help tie them all together in one cohesive piece.
